The product specialist discusses aspects of two new CTLs

Caterpillar's 255 and 265 compact track loaders are the first of a new generation.

They feature boosts in major power specs, Smart Attachment capability, and a new, roomier cab. Construction Equipment senior editor Frank Raczon talked to Cat product specialist Kevin Coleman about the new units, covering blade work, hydraulics, stability, ground clearance, and more.

The 255 replaces the 259D3, and the 265 replaces the 279D3 and 289D3. Cat says the vertical-lift CTLs are ground-up redesigns from the D3 Series.
